American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Springfield is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Springfield follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

It doesn’t seem staff is very friendly and doesn’t welcome and thank seniors at least for visiting the shop. Remembering back many years when I would look at the variety of candy from not only Peases but other candy counters. Then the staff would ask what piece would you like. Apparently, the younger staff now doesn’t care how much it means to a person by letting them choose what candy the customer would like to buy. Very disappointed but maybe that is why the world is in the shape it is .

I used to go to this place once a week when I would go down to Springfield for work. This must have been 30-40 years ago. they had a little boy who worked there, oddest cutest thing. Some little kid who would sweep up and smoke cigarettes, couldn't have been much older than 6 or 7. How he wasn't in school was just one of those mysteries but it was a different time.

So disappointed 2nd year that I have received a peanut butter chocolate egg completely melted in the package on the green paper AKA grass.PEASE'S candy store they used to Wrap the Egg in a plastic bag. Now they just set it on top of the grass, and only used 1 ice pack the ice pack was actually hotter than the chocolate that was melted. I am shocked that you actually sent my chocolate package through UPS who doesn't have A/C in their Delivery trucks HERE In Arizona, just like the Mail man don't either. I just received my car part from Amazon that was cooler than the package I received from the Pease's Candy store. We complained about it last year and now this year it's completely melted you can't even see anything Here's Pics we are heart broken. All the other years Many, Many years we've always received decent eggs. We are very very disappointed, we know how delicious this egg is and we can't drive there to go pick it up.

I will never ever return to this place of business again!!! They were very racist and unwelcoming. There was an elderly lady at the front sorting through candy. No one ever greeted us so I asked if she worked here she didn’t bother to even look up and said β€œyes, I work here why?” β€œWhat do you want?” I said I feel like this is an unpleasant atmosphere and I don’t want any help she then said β€œbye” and not once did she look up besides when we walked in and she spotted faces of color!!! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!! I wouldn’t even trust eating the candy with hateful hearts being involved!! God bless our people!
